This privacy policy applies to both our webshop (qubigo.com) and the Qubigo app. Qubigo ("we", "us") takes the protection of your personal data seriously in both environments. Below we explain, per environment, what data we collect, why, and what rights you have.

What data do we collect

Webshop

If you visit our webshop or place an order, we collect:

Contact details: name, address, email address, phone number
Order details: products ordered, order history, shipping and billing address
Payment details: processed via our payment provider (Shopify Payments / iDEAL / credit card) — we do not store full card details ourselves
Account details: if you create a webshop account, your username and (encrypted) password
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies
Communication: messages you send us via the contact form or email

App

If you use the Qubigo app (for example to play online), we collect:

Account details: email address and username, if you create an account
Game data: your progress, statistics and settings
Device data: device ID, device model and operating system version
Technical diagnostics: crash logs and error reports
Usage information: how and how often you use the app

How we use this data

Webshop

We use your data to:

Process, ship and track your order
Provide customer support
Manage your account
Improve and secure our webshop
Inform you (with consent) about new products or promotions
Comply with legal obligations, such as our bookkeeping duties

App

We use your data to:

Enable gameplay functionality
Track your game progress and statistics
Analyse game performance and improve the app
Detect and fix bugs and technical issues
Inform you (with consent) about updates or new features

Cookies and similar technologies

In the webshop we use cookies: functional cookies (necessary for the cart and checkout to work), analytical cookies (to understand how visitors use the site) and, with your consent, marketing cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings. The app does not use cookies, but does use similar technologies such as a device ID and analytics software to detect crashes and understand app usage. We do not use this data for advertising purposes.

Who we share your data with

We never sell your data to third parties. We do share data with parties that help us run the webshop and the app:

Webshop

Shopify, our e-commerce platform (hosting, checkout, payments)
Payment providers such as Shopify Payments, iDEAL and credit card companies
Delivery services that ship your order
Email marketing and customer support tools (only with your consent)

App

Crash reporting and analytics services, to detect and fix technical issues
Cloud storage, to securely store your game data and progress

These parties may only use your data to perform their service for us and are contractually bound by strict data protection agreements.

How long we keep your data

Webshop

We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as required by law (for example, 7 years for tax records). Account data is kept until you have your account deleted.

App

We generally keep game data for 2 years after your last activity. Account data is kept until you delete your account.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and restricted access to personal data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Access your data
Have incorrect data corrected
Have your data deleted
Object to processing
Have your data transferred (data portability)

Children

Our webshop and app are not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children without consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
